Lang Lang is part of a set of triplets who were taken in by the Po Leung Kok Orphanage in Hong Kong. She was the last one to be adopted at the age of eight by a young American couple. Upon chance, she eventually (and accidentally) crossed paths with her separated sisters, Zhu Zhu and Mei Mei as she started her new life in America. Along the way, she encountered friends, enemies, adventures and strange cultural things like cooties.

Zhu Zhu is part of a set of triplets who were taken in by the Po Leung Kok Orphanage in Hong Kong. As a kitten, Zhu Zhu was adopted by the ringmaster and his wife of an international traveling circus troupe and was raised to also perform as a trapeze artist and acrobat. This rather nomadic life eventually had her bumping into one of her sisters, Lang Lang who at the time was visiting the circus with her new family. Through Lang Lang, Zhu Zhu was introduced to a new social circle since she was home-schooled at the circus till sometime later.

Mei Mei is a part of a set of triplets who were taken in by the Po Leung Kok Orphanage in Hong Kong. Like her sister Zhu Zhu she too was adopted as a kitten, but by an English couple. She was raised in London and she’s as prim and proper as you can get in this comic. When she was eight, she went on a student exchange program to America where she was assigned to Miss Lamb’s 3rd grade homeroom. There she met her sister, Lang Lang and was informed about their relation. During her stay in America, she was given the news of the unfortunate passing of her adopted parents due to a car accident. Orphaned again, she was accompanied by Lang Lang’s family back to London for the funeral. Soon after, she was adopted into Lang Lang’s family.

Mom and Dad are the parents of Lang Lang and Mei Mei. Dad is works in marketing while Mom is a housewife. They are typical, happy parents.

Leah is one of Lang Lang’s best friends in school. Born into a big family of hippies, she’s naturally a little flighty but witty in her own right, however can blow things out of proportion. You got to give props though; she’s the only prey species in the cast.

When Lang Lang attended her first day at school, Penny was assigned to show her around the place. This resulted them being friends from the beginning. Penny’s natural knack for scheming made her like a back up advisor to the gang but like Leah can get rather melodramatic at times. Oh and she’s a total pushover for candy.

Until Lang Lang came along, she was the head of the cheerleading squad. Following that was realizing she also stole away Joey, the quarterback. Missy will try anything to get either or both back; Needless to say, she has a bone to pick with practically everyone in the gang.

In short, Joey’s the elementary school quarterback, Lang Lang’s boyfriend and Jordan’s little brother. He’s rather laid back with things in life and is quite the jealous type when he feels there’s a threat between him and Lang Lang.

Jordan is Joey’s older brother. He’s quite the normal teenager…being cheesy and all.

This “ lovable scamp” is Joey’s partner in crime and Mei Mei’s sweetheart. He is a hopeless romantic and goes over the top on many occasions. He’s the goofiest of the gang, but he’s got a heart of gold.

Mandy’s the youngest member of the cast. Being Chris’s adorable little sister, she’s teases him and rather naïve about things. When caught up in a tree, she assumed that her rescuer, Zhu Zhu was a boy at first sight. Soon after built up a big crush on Zhu. No one has yet realized that mistake and corrected her about Zhu actually being a girl.

They are parents of Chris and Mandy. Selina’s a high-class lawyer while Jim’s an architect/ real estate agent. Personality wise, this is a classic Jessica and Roger Rabbit syndrome, which explains how Chris and Mandy turned out this way. How they got together in the first place is still a mystery.

While their circus was on their Asia tour, the Madam wanted children, but due to her husband’s biological technicalities, they resulted by adopting Zhu Zhu. Until recently, the circus was stationed rather permanent around the town where Lang Lang’s adopted parents lived. But after the lack of income, they had to eventually leave and tour again. Because Zhu Zhu’s new found sisters and a circle of new friends, they didn’t have the heart to make her leave. So Ringmaster arranged the Madam and Zhu to stay so she could have a bit of stability in her life while he continues to travel with the circus as of now.
